Minehead Middle School Strive for excellence

Admission Arrangements

If you would like your child to attend our school, please see full details of our admission arrangements below.

The Admissions Authority for the school is the Governing Body and they are responsible for taking all admission decisions for children transferring to us in Year 5 and for joining the school during the academic year.

Somerset County Council co-ordinates all admissions to Year 5, so if you are applying for a place in Year 5 in September 2017 click here to go the Council's website.

To apply for a Minehead Middle School place during the year, you will need to complete our School Admission Form along with an Ethnic and Language Form and either send them to us or drop them into school. We will then contact you to arrange an appointment for a tour of the school and a meeting with our Headteacher.

We hold an Open Evening for new and prospective parents during October. In addition, Year 4 children from our feeder First Schools pay us a half-day visit in the spring term, to help familiarise them with our school. We also hold 'New Parents' meetings for Year 4 parents from our feeder schools, early in the summer term.

The consultation on West Somerset Academies Trust 2019/20 admission arrangements is from 15 December 2017 until 31 January 2018.

If you wish to comment on these arrangements please e-mail admissionsconsultation@somerset.gov.uk

A final copy of the determined admission arrangements will be displayed on the website by 28 February 2018.

After this date objections can be made to the Office of the School’s Adjudicator. For further information on how to make an objection please visit their website http://www.education.gov.uk/schoolsadjudicator/ or phone the office on 01325 735303.
