Unicef - Rights Respecting Award
This year we have had official confirmation that Minehead Middle School has attained Level 2 of the Rights Respecting Schools Award. This is something we have been working hard towards for a few years, ensuring the ethos of a rights respecting school is firmly embedded in our school. The assessors were very impressed with our pupils and their knowledge of their rights, the respectfulness they show towards each other and their understanding of their place in the world.
So, now we are a Level 2 school – how do we keep it that way? The assessors’ advice is to continue much of what we are doing already, e.g., maintaining a strong pupil voice and putting children’s rights at the very heart of everything we do at Minehead Middle School. We plan to keep campaigning and will continue to ensure every child’s right is at the centre of their education.
