Tony Jones - Chair of Minehead Middle School

Tony is an ex Head Teacher who joined our governing body on 3rd June 2013.  He brings a wealth of educational experience to the role and is one of our most committed governors.  Tony has a special interest in Safeguarding and school improvement and is an excellent “critical friend” to the school.  Tony is also a governor at Minehead First School and is a member of the Exmoor Coast Federation Governing Body for Minehead First School.

Sean Walsh

Sean is a seasoned IT Services Director with 29 years of experience in the IT industry. He has worked in both the private and public sectors both in the UK and Internationally. His primary skills include Programme Delivery, Programme Governance and Commercial / Contract Management and Operations & Service Management.  Sean has nine years’ experience as a School Governor and former Chair of Governors and has two children in school and one at university, is a keen musician and enjoys several sports.

Kathryn Tucker

One of our most experienced governors who has recently been elected to the Church Synod.  We are fortunate to have her as a school governor as she has a wealth of experience, having been in school governance for over 20 years in various schools.  She runs a successful farm and holiday cottage lettings business and has a special interest in Special Educational Needs.

Roseanne Wickham

Roseanne has a social work background and therefore takes a special interest in  children’s welfare and pastoral care.  She is a knowledgeable and enthusiastic member of the governing body and dedicates her time to us to ensure that the school provides the very best care for all the children.  She also has responsibility for monitoring the children’s progress during their time in school.

Paul Hickson

Paul is a recent recruit to our governing body.  He is a parent governor who works for Somerset County Council and has a wealth of knowledge about finances and procedures and practices.  Whilst Paul is a new recruit to the governing body, he has quickly fitted in and is taking a keen interest in monitoring the school’s financial position and a member of the Exmoor Coast Federation Governing Body. Paul was previously at Governor at Minehead First School.

Lee Baker

Lee has a background of banking and finance, working as he does for one of the major banks.  He is a supportive member of the governing body, and is also a trustee of the West Somerset Academies Trust.  He has 2 children within the education system and has been a governor for 6½ years.

Sebastien Crossley

Sebastien worked in the music industry for several years before retraining as a teacher. He now works as the Head of Music in Minehead Middle School and on wider school improvement priorities.

Craig Southam

Moved to Minehead in 2002 after working for 10 years in the steel industry where he managed a busy stockholding warehouse for British Steel. After being a house husband and then undertaking further training, he gained his NVQ3 as a Teaching Assistant in 2011 and has worked as a Behaviour and Learning Support Assistant in First, Middle and Secondary Schools since then.
